Possibilities for co-operation

Municipalities and cities in the Czech Republic are the main partners of the ASEKOL compliance scheme in providing take-back of discarded electrical and electronic equipment. Therefore, ASEKOL offers possibilities for co-operation advantageous to both sides.

In total, 75% of the weight of taken-back electrical and electronic equipment comes from municipal collection points and mobile collections.

Co-operation between compliance schemes and Czech municipalities and cities is enabled under the provisions of Section 38 of the Waste Act. In order to ensure take-back of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, compliance schemes can use the communal waste collection and separation system established by a given city or municipality through written agreement. A compliance scheme is obliged to collect the discarded e-waste from take-back from cities and municipalities free of charge when using the communal waste collection and separation systems of the cities or municipalities.

Co-operation between the ASEKOL compliance scheme and Czech municipalities and cities is founded on concluding a contractual relationship. It is designed both for municipalities with collection yards and for those having mobile collection of hazardous waste.
