Collection Yard of the Year 2015 competition begins!
16. 7. 2015
We have just launched once again for 2015 the Collection Yard of the Year competition. Its objective is to find the best collection yard in the Czech Republic, meaning a yard that is well maintained, has helpful staff and friendly opening hours, is as accessible as possible, and collects a wide range of commodities. What are the competition’s rules?
The Collection Yard of the Year competition runs from mid-July to the end of October 2015 through public voting at the website www.sberne-dvory.cz. Users can find the collection yard they visit and rate it with one to five stars in each of the following five categories: accessibility, orderliness, opening hours, staff helpfulness, and range of collected commodities.
In addition to public voting, the final evaluation of the best collection yard in November 2015 will take into consideration the number of commodities collected by the collection yard (e.g. glass, plastic, metals) and the amount of collected electronics.
Two collection yards will emerge as winners. The best collection yard in a municipality with up to 10,000 inhabitants will receive a prize of CZK 30,000, and the best in a municipality with more than 10,000 inhabitants will receive CZK 50,000.
In addition, all voters will be entered into drawings for valuable prizes. After completing a registration form, they will be automatically entered into one of two drawings. Each drawing provides the chance of winning one of three power banks (2600 mAh) or an LG touchscreen mobile phone.
In last year’s competition, the winner of the category for municipalities with more than 10,000 inhabitants was the collection yard on Průmyslová Street in Uherské Hradiště. Among municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, the winner was the collection yard on street V jamách in Němčovice in the Pilsen Region. Let’s see if they can defend their titles this year!
