Free repairs for defective electrical appliances! This is a unique event that is continuing in Opava in response to the great interest shown by the general public.
In cooperation with the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Opava Repair Shop and Charity, we will be continuing to repair defective electrical appliances in Opava.
The dates will remain the same as before – every first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Specifically, these dates are:
The project was set up with the support of the Moravian-Silesian Region, and we would like to thank the councilwoman for her decision to support sustainability and continue working with us to repair defective appliances. The region has long helped to ensure that electrical waste is treated correctly. It is a good thing that the amount of sorted electrical goods has been increasing year on year. However, we still have a long way to go and so it is appropriate to point out that hair-dryers, electric kettles and microwaves do not belong in regular dustbins. We want to send a message to people that it is not always necessary to discard a malfunctioning appliance, but that it can sometimes be repaired. This saves money and the environment,” said Zdenka Němečková Crkvenjaš, a Councillor for the Environment from the Moravian-Silesian Region.
What can be repaired?
Everything will run the same as before and all appliances will be accepted for repair, although some will require prior agreement between the customer and the repair technician. Almost any electrical appliance can be handed in for repair. In the past, these were mostly electrical appliances such as kettles, irons and hairdryers, as well as televisions and microwaves, washing machines, fridges and dishwashers. “We will try to accommodate everyone and fix what we can. However, there may be cases where the appliance cannot be repaired or is unprofitable to repair. In such a case, the appliance can be left in a sheltered workshop for ecological recycling,” explained Mr. Žižka, REPAIR SHOP service technician.
Appliances that people can bring in without prior arrangement include:
- all black technology: TVs, mobile phones, computers, laptops, audio/video, light white goods
- some appliances cannot be repaired on site and can therefore be taken to a specialised workshop
Appliances requiring telephone consultation:
- large white goods: washing machines, refrigerators, dishwashers
- service technician – Dalibor Žižka (tel. +420 734 130 467)
The REPAIR SHOP will be based in the green container array in front of the Charity Opava Sheltered Workshops at the address Přemyslovců 3 in Opava.
