Residents of Hradec Králové have had the opportunity for four years to dispose of worn-out and obsolete small electronics in 20 stationary red containers situated throughout the city.
So far, they have sorted nearly 43 tonnes of e-waste in this manner. ASEKOL, the not-for-profit company which placed the containers in Hradec Králové and ensures they are regularly emptied and their contents recycled, now is bringing us a small event as a reminder to people. The event is fully supported by our city.
From the second half of June, post boxes in the Moravské Předměstí neighbourhood of Hradec Králové will receive red bags with leaflets reminding residents that they should place worn-out and obsolete electronics into the red containers. By doing so, they not only will help the environment but also support the Rovná šance (Equal Chance) Endowment Fund, which will receive 1 crown from ASEKOL a.s. for each kilogram of electronics collected. The designated funds will be invested into supporting education for people with disabilities.
