Canon employees have in their thoughts people in need during the tough times of Corona. They showed us another easy way of donating to charity and save the environment at the same time. Employees of the Canon company donated 37 old used phones for purposes of the Remobil project with the general partner collecting scheme ASEKOL. The collection was realized in a short period. It held only half a year since the last charitable activity of the company. Financial contribution for given mobile phones goes to the activities of the Jedlickuv ustav. Donation of old mobile phones through the Remobil project also saves the environment. The ecological recycling of 37 mobile devices saves 1 106 liters of the potable water. „The mobile phones are handled to the certified processing factories. Processors can efficiently separate materials for the production of new devices, because of the modern ways of the manufactory.“ Daniel Šafář, sales and marketing director of the ASEKOL company, describes the process of recycling. The ceremonial handover of mobile phones to the representatives of the Remobil project took place in the residence of the ASEKOL company on 24th September 2020.

Canon company is regularly educating its employees about the importance of recycling and encourage them to responsible thinking about the environment. Our employees are highly interested in the projects supporting the environment like Remobil. It shows us that educational events that we are holding with our partner ASEKOL are meaningful.“ Lucie Němcová, Procurement manager praises the activity of their employees.

Remobil project helped to recycle 37 239 mobile phones and gave away more than 370 000 CZK for charity purposes during the time of their existence. „It always makes us happy when we can mediate help for people in need and save the environment simultaneously. Our closest goal is to collect 100 000 mobile phones.“ Miloš Polák, the founder of the Remobil project, commented.
