The Karlovy Vary Region at Sokolov Chateau announced at the beginning of June the results of the competition of municipalities in the collection of a small electric power called EZ - Liga for 2017. All municipalities that had concluded a contract with the non-profit-making company ASEKOL were included in the competition. Two categories were rated; municipalities with up to 2 500 inhabitants and municipalities with more than 2 500 inhabitants.

The winners received financial rewards. “We are trying to improve the level of waste sorting in municipalities in this way. I believe that the financial prize gained in the competition is motivating municipalities to work on the economics of their waste management and to support citizens in this regard. It is already evident that waste sorting has become a natural and natural part of the life of people in towns and villages in most regions of the region, “said Karel Jakobec, Regional Environmental Councilor.
